Carolyn Mayling
Founder and trustee
Carolyn, mother of Rosie, is the Founder and Chair of Trustees for Rosie’s Rainbow Fund. Following Rosie’s tragic death, Carolyn set up Rosie's Rainbow Fund as a legacy to honour her late daughter's wish. Since its inception in 2004 she has steered the charity ensuring it continues to stay true to her daughter's vision. Her first-hand experience of the difficulties and isolation of parents undergoing lengthy hospital stays ,enables her to fully understand the needs of parents and very sick children in hospital. Carolyn is also a Co-Director of Redroofs School for the Performing Arts and has many years of teaching experience in training young performers, many of whom have forged successful professional careers on stage and screen.
Carolyn was awarded a Point of Light by former Prime Minister David Cameron for outstanding volunteering in the service of others. She continues to produce many large scale charity shows to raise funds and awareness of Rosie’s charity. Carolyn's older daughter Ellie is a trustee of the charity, and she also has a teenage son and two grandchildren.
Carolyn is proud to have written her memoir The Future is Rosie due to be published early in 2023. This will be her first published work.
